Hi Everybody,
Yes, I'm still here.  Checking in as much as possible.  I'm trying to look as busy as possible at work even if I don't have alot of work to do.  The stress and pressure of keeping your job and hoping to get a full paycheck is horrible.  Everyone around here looks at each other to see how busy they are and why you get to come to work when others are part-time because there is no work for them to do.
Things are tough for everyone and I can only hope things get better.
Does anyone have any GOOD news?

Hey right back at you.
Roy--- all you need to do is shout and we respond.

I have some [good] news...
Temps have been nice even with a heck of a lot of rain.

There are flowers on my Dad's tomato plants AND the "early girl" corn is about 3-4 inches high (put some more seed in last week)- so now I am a distance corn farmer.- no matter- I like the fresh produce and it makes him very happy.

Also: the a/c in my car stopped working.
After 10 years of faithful service my car is awaiting the big donation place somewhere...

Got myself a new car - American.  It has POWER WINDOWS and LOCKS and 4 (four) doors that actually open and close!  [This is a big step up for me.]  AND the a/c works.

Not happy with another bill to pay, but honestly, I could not see putting in $800+ for new a/c in a car with 140,000 miles on it (and kelly blue book of $500).
Nice to have some reliable transportation.

Hot Dog we can ride in stile now.
I know that you don't need the extra payment but at least you got something that you can depend on now.
But damn I like the smell of a new car.

Our garden isn't look so hot. We got corn, tomatoes, quash, peppers and cucumber planted but they aren't doing anything but just sitting there. First it was too cold on them at night now with it being so dry I'm going to have to start irrigation soon. I hop that yours is doing better.

Hi Roy and all,
Yes, buzzing around in the new wheels.
The weather is  crazy again.
I am not complaining

That "new car smell",
Well- seems like that "smell" was lots of environmenally unfriendly chemical stuff and they don't use it much now-a-days.

My new car smells new
I am thinking it's because there are no little pieces of fruit/veggies or fries etc mummifying under the seats

Wait and see with the irragation.
Good luck to all of us.

I'm Here........
Hope you're enjoying that new car.  It goes so quick.  I can't believe we've had our Chevy Cobalt for three years now.  My Grand Am lasted 10 years 120,000 miles and running fine until the car accident.
The only thing I don't like is I should have picked a darker interior.
I'll know next time.
Hope every one has a great weekend.

You know Diana if you put some music to that you might have a hit song on your hands.

Just kidding with you.
You might as well laugh as to cry.
We all in the same boat. May be things will turn around next year.

Oil Tank

Remember we talked about my oil tank with a slow drip.  Well we decided now might be a good time to take out the old tank and put in a new one.  Maybe we can get one for a good price.  When I checked last year I got a price of $500 just for the tank not including labor.  Even though the tank is in the basement, he thinks there is a way he can get it out and put another one back in.  He thinks it would be better to keep it out of the weather.  Any thoughts on prices or where the tank should go?  We also thought of changing to electric but seems it would cost more to heat the house via electric as opposed to oil.  My grandma's boyfried who has been in the heating & oil business all his life says to stick with oil.  Oil is a much warmer heat than electric and doesn't take as long to heat the house.
Just thought I'd throw this out and see what everyone thinks.

For what it worth Diana I would stick with the oil if every else is working fine except the oil tank has got a hole in it I would just replace the tank. You said that you could get a new tank for around $500.00 to replace the one that you got now in the basement. Why don't you check on the price of one to go in the ground outside. That would free up some space in the basement. It would be easier to fill and I expect the cost of the labor to get the new tank in the basement would off set the extra cost of a coated in ground tank. I agree with you that oil is warmer and I think that it is cheaper too.

That is just my option.

Thanks Roy,
I love opinions....Every little bit helps.
My recent venture is shopping around for cheaper insurance.
I've switched my homeowners and car.
It's cheaper to have both at the same place.  I'm dumping MetLife and switching to Auto-Owner's Insurance.  Same coverage cheaper price.  I went to an agent my mailman recommended.  What is the benefit of going through an agent.  How do they get paid and would it be cheaper to go directly to the insurance company? I think insurance is a complete rip-off until you hit a deer and have $4,000 in damages.

Hi Everybody
NEWS FLASH.....................
They took the old tank out and put a new one in.
He called and said now is a good time because they are slow.
I'm supposed to talk to the owner this afternoon to find out what it's going to cost.  Maybe he will be kind and give us a break since we've been with them for years.
I'll let you know.
I'm sure glad that's done.
