Howdy All

I talked with the owner last week to get the price and he said "Kathy is on vacation and she will work up the cost and let you know."  So, I called Kathy a few minutes ago and she said $511.88.  I asked if they would take $500 and she felt that would be OK.  She mentioned not only did we get the new tank but there is a new gauge that shows the amount inside and out so they don't overfill it.  I know it could have been more because there was a lot of labor involved.  Of course I wish it where free but we expected this.  The belt gets even tighter but what else can you do.

Hi Diana,
Is today your birthday or are you trying to trick us?

Happy B-day Di

Sounds like you are having a good day (I think $500 for your oil tank removal and a new one is a real present).

Thinks are looking up I say!

Take it easy and Happy Birthday!

That funny. A oil tank for your birthday.

Like Lin is it your birthday?

I am all ways tell my people to give me something that I can use for my birthday or at Christmas time. Now that would be some thing that I would want if I need one. It sure would beat the hell out of a tie.

I am glad that you got it Diana. That one think that you won't have to worry about now. I all so think that you got a good deal.

YES 7/22 is my B-day.

I'm with you Roy, I always prefer something I can use/need and the oil tank is it.  Getting that out of the way is a great birthday present.  The less stress the better.  I have enough grays, don't want anymore.  Ms. Clarol is my best friend.  I can only pull so many.

Hope everyone has a Great day!

I think Sheryl has a birthday coming real soon.

Hey Lin;

How is that new car doing? I bet that new car smell {because there are no little pieces of fruit/veggies or fries etc mummifying under the seats you said} AC felt good last week with all this heat and rain.  Can't do much in the garden with it being so wet. I have can 29 pints and 4 quarts of Sweet Pickles. Next I want to put up a few jars of Yellow Pickles Squash. It is good on everything from hotdogs to greens or right out the jar. Check the recipe site for the recipe.

Hi Roy,
I will tell you that A/C is king!

Also: that new car certainly is easier to get in and out of and is just easier to drive.
I feel bad I have not had it washed yet (too hot).
Also: coming up on 5k miles and they say no need to change the oil yet (that gets me a bit worried, but I hope they know what they are talking about).

As far as the garden:
Not much of anything (I'd say maybe 1/4 of what we had last year).
What tomatoes we have are very sweet as are the peppers.  The cucs are good too.  The corn is still growing.  I plan to put in another crop this weekend (like 30 seeds).
This time last year I was giving away lots to neighbors and friends.
Better luck next year....
Glad with what we have.

Hi all!

Haven't been on here in a while - thought I might just pop in.  Diana - my bday is in February, but I've decided that I'm not gonna have any more of them - they make me old!  LOL!  My son (Christopher) & hubby's (Sam) birthdays are coming up very shortly, on 9/2 (and no, we absolutely did not plan on having him on the same day as Sam's bday) - Sam will turn 45, and Chris turns 22.  However, on 9/3 - Chris is shipping out for basic training for the Navy.  Chris & his wife (Jen), and our granddaughter, Beth, came up to visit last weekend - it was awesome.  We had a severely full house (we have a friend living with us while she's going thru a nasty divorce, and her kids are here on the weekends), but had a fantastic time all together.  Not only were there 5 adults, but there were 3 kids running loose (two 6 year old girls, and the 4 year old little guy who was following them around all weekend).

Diana - your car, at 125,000 miles was a baby!  My Grand Prix is about to hit 200,000, and is still running great.  Our friend who is staying with us just turned her Honda over past 300,000 miles.  Now, those are very well seasoned vehicles!  Not planning on getting rid of any of them any time soon.  Sam's Dodge Ram is well over 130,000, and is still awesome.  The only bad thing is that with Pontiac going under, we now have 2 vehicles that are no longer made - no biggie, I'd buy another Grand Prix in an instant.

Garden was pathetic this year - IF the tomatoes even grew, they rotted on the vine before they turned red.  The cucumbers (easiest thing to grow, ever) did really bad, and we got zero cucumbers - they would barely have formed cucumbers and they'd turn yellow and squishy (that's OK, the dill died off right away too) and the zucchini didn't do much at all.  Let's not even talk about how crappy the corn did.  The peppers, however, are rocking.  I really think that there's a lot of things missing in the ground here.  I digress - I have no intention of trying to plant another garden here (OK, I will plant peppers, but that's IT!) and I pass an awesome farm store on my way to & from work - I'm more than happy to pay for good stuff.  Definitely not worth it to try to plant somewhere that is fighting back against me - that and the farm store has tomatoes and corn long before I could possibly grow them myself!

Any hoo - Brewzer wants to go outside now (He's still rocking at 11 years old and completely blind) so I guess I'll go stick a leash on him and let him drag me all over the yard.  Lucky just goes in and out as he pleases, so he's not an issue.

I SWEAR I'll check in more often!
Sheryl

It is good to hear from you Sheryl
I must admit that I don't check in every day like I use to because it been so slow having anyone post on here. Sometime I think I am the only one on here.

Don't feel bad about the garden. This has been one of the worst years that I can remember in trying to raise a garden. First the deer's eat up all of my corn. Then the bugs got on the snaps. By the time I got around to spraying the bugs had eaten up half of them. I don't know what happen to my beets. I was looking for a couple of bushels and all that I got was a 5 gal bucket and that wasn't full. So you see you wasn't the only one that had a bad year trying to raise a garden.
